University Scholarships

Tigo forged a partnership with Dar Teknohama Business Incubator (DTBi) to nurture and promote Information and Communication Technology entrepreneurs by providing much needed platform for commercialization of technologies or solutions developed in the DTBi Incubator. In addition to this scholarship for University students undertaking Information and Communication Technology (ICT) related courses were awarded to nine students attending local universities based on their academic performance.

The scholarship provides financial assistance to undergraduate and postgraduate students who may be unable to cover for tuition fees, research and stipends costs. In Tanzania, funding of tertiary education largely depends on government subvention which in most cases is inadequate therefore resulting to many students unable to pursue their career dreams. It is for this reason that we are compelled to act by providing a financial support to future ICT experts who will not only provide local solutions but also become leaders in the ICT industry.

Apart from financial support provided to these students, an opportunity to undertake their field practicals within our business functions is extended to them to sharpen their relevant skills while at the same time gaining a world class corporate experience.
