Tigo Free Eye Camps​

Honora Tanzania PLC(Tigo) is partners with Khoja Shia Ithnaashery Charitable Eye Centre to support the treatment of more than 1.8 million people who have vision impairment due to different eye problems and lack of access to quality medical eye care, a significant barrier to accessing quality healthcare for prevention and treatment.

As Tigo’s vision and mission is to sustainably improve the lives of the most with vulnerable populations will support The KSI Charitable Eye Centre to expand the facilities making it possible to serve more people and support the free eye camps in the regions far from Dar and do not have treatment facilities or the available cannot serve many people.

In January 2024, Tigo supported the Zanzibar Free Eye Clinic in Unguja at Haile Selassie School and Makunduchi whereby 4,563 patients were examined and 179 had eye surgeries and a total of 4107 spectacles were distributed, accompanied by 2409 units of prescribed medicine,

Other free eye clinics will be in Mtwara, Pemba and Dar es Salaam.
